Effective with the 2016 year, legislation changed the due date of the tax return for some types of companies. For companies filing on a calendar year basis, this is the impact:
|Company Type||Prior Due Date||New Due Date|
|Partnership returns (Form 1065)||April 15th||March 15th|
|C corporation returns (Form 1120)||March 15th||April 15th|
|S Corporations (Form 1120S)||March 15th||March 15th (unchanged)|
Extended due dates for all types of companies remains unchanged at September 15th.
Please be reminded that company provided contributions into retirement plans must be deposited before the due date of the company tax return, including extensions if applicable.
